New Mom Naturopath: Postpartum, Mindset, postpartum mental health
Am I a bad mom if...? When will I get more sleep? Is this normal? Is postpartum supposed to be this hard?Mama, you’re in the right place!Welcome to ’The New Mom Naturopath,’ the podcast designed to help you navigate the rollercoaster ride of motherhood and conquer the mental load of postpartum anxiety and stress. I’m your host, Dr. Kailyn Galloway, a mom and a naturopathic physician passionate about women’s mental health.During my pregnancy, I faced more complications than a sitcom plot, and nothing prepared me for the unexpected diagnosis of my son’s clubfoot. It completely disrupted my postpartum plans, leaving me feeling as prepared as a squirrel attempting calculus. How was I supposed to handle being a new mom to this beautiful baby while unsure how to take care of myself? Was my baby bound to battle mental health struggles simply because I couldn’t contain my postpartum anxiety? As a pregnant naturopathic medical student, I immersed myself in courses on the human body, postpartum wellness, labor, and women’s health. After countless resources (and gallons of coffee), I realized that my anxiety was a regular part of transitioning into motherhood. I knew but needed a holistic strategy to manage my mental health and embrace the fulfilling motherhood experience I knew I could have.If you’re ready to feel confident in your role as a mom and discover simple, natural treatments and strategies for managing postpartum anxiety amidst the overwhelming stress of new motherhood, grab your coffee, turn up the volume, and join me on this unfiltered journey. We’ll dive into mindset techniques, non-violent communication strategies, and getting help without all that mom guilt. Together, we will conquer the postpartum period with resilience and grace.Warning: Side effects may include uncontrollable laughter, newfound confidence, and an overwhelming urge to conquer the world (or at least your laundry pile).Want to learn how to manage your mindset, ask for the help you need, and manage conflict during postpartum?
