Wangechi born as Wangechi Waweru is a female rapper, singer and
songwriter based in Nairobi, Kenya. Her professional music career
started at the age of 19 after she recorded her first mixtape dubbed
Consume “Chakula ya Soul”.
In the early parts of her career she was featured on CNN African Voices
(2013) as one of the artists to watch out for from the continent.
She was part of the artist line up of Coke Studio Africa in 2015, which
saw her collaborate with Ne-yo.
She also took part in writing the official campaign song for the Tusker
Here’s To Us campaign in 2016.
Wangechi has released a number of singles in the Kenyan industry
together with a mix tape (Consume 2013), an album (DCISIB 2016) and
an EP (Soundcloud Sundays 2018)
