Hailing from Lafayette, Louisiana, Bukkha started producing dub music in 2007 with his debut vinyl release dropping just 2 years later backed with a remix from none other than Radikal Guru. Praised for his uniquely energetic DJ sets, he was a figurehead in the gulf coast dub/bass scene until 2015, before emigrating to Spain, where he now resides.
With an instrumental background in guitar and bass starting when he was 11-years-old, Bukkha, real name Evert Cristoff, was raised on the sounds of everything from Luke Vibert to Madlib to Billie Holliday, which has molded the uniquely versatile compositional style we hear from him today. Having dropped releases with a number of notable imprints in the scene, including Moonshine, Dub-Stuy, ZamZam Sounds, Green King Cuts, Infernal Sounds, and War, along with a number of forthcoming releases on some very reputable reggae/dub labels, Bukkha has also remixed tunes for Roommate, Radikal Guru, Tuff and Powa, Danny Scrilla, Jojo Mac and more.
With support from the likes of Mala, J:Kenzo, N-Type, Channel One Sound System, Radikal Guru, Numa Crew and a wealth of other influential DJs, he toured extensively around Europe, the UK, US and Canada in 2018 with plans in the works to tour Central and South America, Asia, and Australia in 2019.
