Yaba Buluku Boyz is an African music trio from Mozambique, founded in 2021. The group is composed of three artists known by their stage names Dj Tarico, Nelson Tivane & Preck powered by the Geobek Standard for African Talent establishment.
In 2020, while the world was caught up in the heat of the new pandemic and a strict lockdown, 3 Mozambican Artists Dj Tarico, Nelson Tivane, and Preck, now known as Yaba Buluku Boyz in the music scene came together in the studio to create the smash Amapiano hit that became Spotify’s number 1 viral song on TikTok #YabaBuluku #YabaBulukuChallenge with over 50 million users of the hashtags by fans dancing and creating dance challenges on Tiktok and peaked at number 1 on Apple Music for a long time.

DJ Tarico (as his professional name implies), born Tárico Caifaz Samuel Simbine is a DJ, a Hit Record Producer, Artiste, Composer, and Sound Engineer from Mozambique who has become one of the global faces of Amapiano music. Early 2020, he released his debut album, ‘Moz Piano.’ Its title is inspired by the fusion of Amapiano with elements of Mozambican pop music. Late 2020, he released ‘Moz Piano Vol. 2’ and on it was the self-produced ‘Yaba Buluku,’ the international smash hit which has gotten a remix that features Nigerian Grammy-winning superstar, Burna Boy.
Nelson Tivane is an amazing singer-songwriter and a great energetic performer from Mozambique and one of the members of the trio Yaba Buluku Boyz group. He uses an entirely new style in delivering the catchiest part of a song.
Preck is also an artist from Mozambique who began his career in Inhambane, Mozambique after he fell in love with Hip-Hop through DMX, JaRule, Jay-Z, and more. The third member of the Yaba Buluku Boyz trio group, he initially set out to become a rapper but became a singer after moving to Maputo. He was initially discouraged by people but the discouragements have kept him going and they continue to do so.
