Moorer’s brand of music is both refreshing and vintage, like a quiet gardenscape of secret passages, situated somewhere between sunrise and heartbreak. Soul Bounce describes Moorer’s voice as “a sweet sound like a blend between Minnie Riperton and Corinne Bailey Rae.” Brenda fuses jazz, soul, and folk elements into her songwriting, crafting songs with a quiet ache and intriguing pull. Moorer works closely with Brooklyn based keyboardist/producer Jesse Fischer. Together, they released the EP, “For Lovers & Believers,” presenting music with a positive message, simple melodies atop laid back rhythms, heavy Rhodes, and underlying synths. Brenda’s latest album, Brand New Heart was co-written by keyboardist Kenny Banks Jr and Jesse Fischer embarking on a full length album which features Chris Turner from Snarky Puppy’s Family Dinner.
