Did you know that some people are unable to visualise? They can’t create any images, picture the faces of loved ones, or see their past or imagine their desired future in their mind? For an estimated 3.9 to 5% of the population, this is their normal, if they have the condition aphantasia.

Sassy Smith is a qualified coach, trainer and speaker and in 2015 she discovered that she has aphantasia. Realising that visualising wasn't just a concept came as a shock and led her down a path to researching this condition, and some of the other conditions which are often associated.

Sassy found her purpose when she realised that traditional coaching methods, such as ‘imagine your future self’ didn’t work for her. As a self-professed neurospicy individual, she has real experience and understanding of what it’s like to live with aphantasia and other associated neurodivergent conditions.

Through the Aphantasia Academy, Sassy helps professionals, coaches, therapists and counsellors build their understanding and awareness of neurodivergent conditions, teaching them advanced coaching skills with tools and strategies to better support their clients who have little or no access to their inner worlds.

Sassy Smith is passionate about raising awareness of aphantasia and teaching other professionals how to adapt to support their non-visualising clients.

As a member of the Institute of Leadership & Management, Sassy Smith brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her coaching practice and training academy.

Sassy Smith's ultimate goal is to create a space for individuals with aphantasia to experience the transformative power of coaching without the barriers and frustrations that come with traditional coaching methods. She is passionate about helping individuals gain clarity and confidence to step into the life they've always wanted but could never visualise.
